Aspera Faspex is one of the most popular products for big data distribution from premises. It uses a package based delivery model running on IBM’s proprietary high speed FASP protocol, where a package is a unit of delivery, comprising of several files and folders. The creator of the package decides who the recipients are, and this can be an individual or workgroup, and creates the package by uploading the files and folders to the server. Faspex then notifies the recipient(s) by email, and if they have an automated downloader set up on their side, it will automatically download the package and make it ready for use.

  • Ideal for distributive workflows where content published once goes to multiple recipients
  • Packages can be created beforehand and released for delivery at a specific date and time
  • Transfer at line speeds regardless of distance using the IBM Aspera FASP© protocol
  • Optionally use https for transfers instead of FASP©
  • Can use cloud endpoints to facilitate large number of concurrent downloads
  • Automated downloaders Aspera Cargo and Aspera Connect available to automate distribution workflow
  • End to end secure transfers
  • Encrypt files securely using server side encryption
  • Encrypt packages using user specified keys such that packages cannot be unlocked without those keys
  • SAML support
